DEBRA DUNN
Debra Dunn, president and founder of Synergy Resources Group (SRG) since 2013, leads a multi-disciplinary firm that specializes in organizational development with an emphasis on organizational assessments, strategic planning, internal/external engagement, board development, leadership development/executive coaching, and process improvement.
Debra has held executive level positions in for-profit business, nonprofit organizations, and consultation services for over 30 years. Her education is in business, accounting, and marketing. She is trained in change management; she is a certified facilitator and certified in Hogan Assessment Systems, a nationally recognized leadership development tool designed to identify, grow, and support leaders as well as the Myers Briggs evaluation tool.
Debra has participated in many Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training workshops where she learned the foundational tenets of equity. She has shared these principles with clients and advised on how to develop a more diverse workplace and advance people of color. Over the last 25 years, Debra has been actively addressing racism through employment policies and hiring processes as well as decision making structures that have affected change in many small to mid-size businesses and organizations.
Debra has extensive experience in developing public policy, specifically working on transportation policy as it relates to the efficient and environmentally responsible movement of goods, services, and people. She brings a business perspective to the issues facing communities and has served as ‘bridge’ among multi modes of transportation to effect change. She is regularly invited to advise on transportation by the private and public sectors. She has also served on numerous public policy committees locally, regionally, and nationally on a variety of issues including seeking solutions for multiple modes of transportation.
Debra serves on the Oregon Environmental Council; is a founding member of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon; a 2015 Women of Influence award recipient and a member of the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs. She served on Oregon Attorney General Hardy Meyers Consumer Advisory Council for 10 years.
NICOLE SWANSON
Nicole Swanson (she/her) is SRG’s Project Assistant and is a detail-oriented, results-motivated individual. She brings over five years of administrative and project coordination experience. Nicole uses her talents and experience in planning, organization, writing, and communications to create and implement internal and external communications as well as stakeholder activities.
An AmeriCorps alumni, Nicole uses her passion for working with nonprofits to create meaningful relationships with clients. She is proficient in multiple business operations, including data management, procedural documentation, and problem solving. Nicole specializes in developing, organizing, and coordinating projects.
Nicole has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois State University. She is originally from the Chicago area and now lives in Portland's Buckman neighborhood. Nicole loves exploring Oregon with her dog and bike.
