Debra Dunn, president and founder of Synergy Resources Group (SRG) since 2013, leads a multi-disciplinary firm that specializes in organizational development with an emphasis on organizational assessments; strategic planning; internal/external engagement; board development; leadership development/executive coaching and process improvement.
Debra has held executive level positions in for-profit business; nonprofit organizations and consultation services for over 30 years. Her education is in business, accounting, marketing. She is trained in change management; she is a certified facilitator and certified in Hogan Assessment Systems, a nationally recognized leadership development tool designed to identify, grow and support leaders as well as the Myers Briggs evaluation tool.
Debra has participated in many Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training workshops where she learned the foundational tenets of equity. She has shared these principles with clients and advised on how to develop a more diverse workplace and advanced people of color. Over the last 25 years, Debra has been actively addressing racism through employment policies and hiring processes as well as decision making structures that have affected change in many small to mid-size businesses and organizations.
Debra has extensive experience in developing public policy, specifically working on transportation policy as it relates to the efficient and environmentally responsible movement of goods, services and people. She brings a business perspective to the issues facing communities and has served as ‘bridge’ among multi modes of transportation to effect change. She is regularly invited to advise on transportation by the private and public sectors. She has also served on numerous public policy committees, locally, regionally and nationally on a variety of issues, including seeking solutions for multiple modes of transportation.
LAUREN BLOOM HANOVER
Lauren Bloom Hanover, SRG’s senior project assistant joined the SRG team almost three years ago. She brings a decade of experience in managing and overseeing complex projects through periods of growth and transition. She has extensive experience with facilitating diverse groups of people to achieve their goals as well as leading community outreach activities.
Since joining SRG she has focused her talents on client project support, strategic planning, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and outreach activities.
Lauren’s background also includes creating and implementing education programs, engagement events and relationship building strategies at multiple organizations in Portland and the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a Master’s degree in theatre.
Debra serves on the Oregon Environmental Council; is a founding member of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon; a 2015 Women of Influence award recipient and a member of the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs. She served on Oregon Attorney General Hardy Meyers Consumer Advisory Council for 10 years.
Jennie Spector is SRG's Project Assistant. Most recently, she worked as the Development Associate at Northwest Children's Theater and School, following two years as Executive Assistant to the Artistic Director. Prior to that, Jennie was the Content and Development Fellow at Foreign Policy Interrupted, an organization aimed at amplifying female voices in foreign policy media. Her work as a writer and journalist has been published in The Solutions Journal and the Northeastern University Political Review. Jennie holds a B.A. in International Affairs from Northeastern University, and was the 2020-2021 Marla Bennett Memorial Scholar at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. Her studies and work have taken her to the Balkans, Paris, Istanbul, and Jerusalem, as well as numerous theaters around Portland as a producer, director, and actor for the stage.
