Recommendations on U.S. 'Aging' Policy
Early last year, Walt Dawson from the Oregon Healthcare Association (and the President of the Oregon Gerontological Association) was asked to co-author an article on long term-services & supports and policy recommendations as a part of the American Society on Aging’s (ASA) Message to the New Administration on Aging Policy. It is being shared with Congressional staff as well as other groups at the local and national level. Several important issues are covered including: retirement income, long-term services & supports, financing reform, enhanced support for family caregivers as well as the tremendous opportunity afforded by an increasingly older population with knowledge and skills that can be shared through programs such as Encore.
